At ITCA Speech & Language Communication is taught in three different ways:

As a standard Speech & Language therapy delivered by a Speech & Language therapist.

As part of Applied Behavioural Analysis therapy delivered by an ABA therapist.

During ABA sessions, we place a great emphasis on the receptive and expressive language and communication, using many evidence-based techniques to contrive motivation and get a child to communicate. We also use Speech and Communication modelling techniques. Speech & Communication Modelling – is an evidence-based practice modality of ABA which is offered in combination with ABA and can be delivered on the Sensory Integration equipment for the accelerated therapy results.

Very often children with autism and other special needs do not pay attention to the motor movement of mouth, how the words are formed, combined in the sentences and how to generalize in the contexts outside the therapy room. Speech modelling technique is based on research and can be an effective method in teaching non-verbal and minimally verbal children to speak, and for verbal children to increase the amount of verbal communication.
As a 12-week Telehealth Parent Coaching programme in how to run an effective parent-led home-based Behavioural Social Communication therapy for your own child.  The coaching programme focuses on effective evidence-based methods supported has been developed for four different levels of speech and communication skills, depending on where your child is currently at. The levels are as follows: Pre Verbal, Single Words, Word Combinations, Sentences.
